Julie Sharbutt is a Filmmaker, Writer and Actor based in LA. Recent works include her award winning horror comedy short film SCAM, which screened across the world at RiverRun, Fantaspoa, Woodstock and more. Her short film 3 DAYS is on ALTER, and her dark comedy feature MOVED is on Apple and iTunes. Her buddy horror comedy feature film GHOSTIES is in development. Screenplays which have placed and won in various festivals and competitions include EXCELLENT FANCY (Writers Lab Finalist, WScripted Cannes Screenplay List), RETREAT (Almanack Screenwriters Colonyand FilmQuest Finalist), and many more. Prior to directing, Julie was a TV, film and theater actor, and performed improv at UCB and The PIT. Her humor writing can be seen in The New Yorker, McSweeneys, Weekly Humorist and more. She has an MFA in Acting from NYU, BA from Vanderbilt, is a member of Film Fatales, Women in Film, and Alliance of Women Directors, and is a Warner Bros Disc OneFifty New Storytellers Initiative alumni. She loves hiking, volunteering, tomato sandwiches and ghost stories.
