Melanie Winklosky is a fiction writer trapped in a grant writer’s body. Melanie won the University of Iowa's 2025 Write Now Flash Writing Contest, was a finalist in the 2023 Boston in 100 Words contest, and a 2023 finalist in NYC Midnight’s Flash Fiction Challenge. Her work can be found in McSweeney's and 50 Word Stories. Melanie lives in Swampscott, Massachusetts in her recently empty nest with her husband and enormous chocolate lab, cheering on her children, somehow adults.
