Goodbye Birds

There are 1,093 protected species in the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. But the Trump administration said no more: “Let industry and corporations have their say. We shan’t protect the bird-brained anyway.”


 

Goodbye booby and bean-goose, you funny named fowl. Eff you blackbird and bluebird, appropriately masked for now. Goodbye Bushtit, indeed, this some bullsh*t I see, as buzzards go “bzzzz” into towers, 5G.

 

The St. Louis Cardinals will need a new shtick; my Little Chickadee, you’re now just a flick. Goodbye condor. Goodbye crane. Our skyscape shall ne’er be the same.

Goodbye sapsucker, you great insult of a bird. Goodbye swan, goodbye turtle-dove, goodbye 12 Days of Christmas, ya heard? U.S. Fish and Wildlife says protecting ya’ll’s for the birds.

 

But so long most of all, to the one we called regal. Goodbye to our very own proud bald eagle.

 

Trump says you should have seen that wind turbine before it chopped you to bits and besides no mascot of his will be caught dead flying into a toxic oil pit that’s un-netted so corporations could save a few bucks, so there.
